9.4 Overview of the mechanical
options
The following mechanical options are available:
– Quick couplings
– Integrated spark arrestor
– Air inlet shut-off valve
– Engine preheater
9.5 Desciption of the
mechanical options
9.5.1 Quick couplings
The option Quick couplings allows to bypass the
internal fueltank and to connect an external fueltank
to the unit.
Make sure that:
– the big size coupling is used for the inlet.
– the small size coupling is used for the outlet.
9.5.2 Integrated spark arrestor
The integrated spark arrestor option is included in the
refinery equipment pack.
9.5.3 Air inlet shut-off valve
The engine air inlet shut-off valve option is included
in the refinery equipment pack. It will prevent over-
speeding of the engine due to combustible gases
being traced within the normal engine air intake.
9.5.4 Engine preheater
When operating at low temperatures, the engine
preheater preheats the cooling fluid before starting,
which allows the engine to start more easily.
Additionally the engine preheater prolongs the
engine’s lifetime as cold starts are avoided.

External fuel tank connection
EFR
External fuel tank return connection
An extra clamp needs to be used to
guide the fuellines.
The engine preheater is not available
for units with Qc1002™ controller.
