10. Main Server: Upgrade
the server.
Upgrade the Main server to
Communication Manger
3.0 or later.
A Main server can never
run a release of
Communication Manger
that is later than that of the
ESS server(s).
If the existing server is
running a Communication
Manager release prior to
3.0, upgrade to
Communication Manager
3.0 using standard
procedures.
If the existing server is
already running
Communication Manager
3.0 or later, load the RFA
license and authentication
file (see step 11. Main
server: Install the RFA
license and authentication
file.).
If this server was used as a
MBS, re-master using
Communication Manager
3.0 or later.
If this is a Main server with
a MBS, re-master using
Communication Manager
3.0 or later.
To use the standard process to
upgrade the Main server to
Communication Manger 3.0 or
later see:
● Upgrading Software and

● Upgrading Software and
Firmware - Avaya S8500
Media Server
(555-242-111).
