Important
•Youcanonlyenableanddisablecardformatsifthedoorcontrollerhasbeenconguredwithatleastonereader.See
Congurethehardwareonpage10andHowtocongurereadersandREXdevicesonpage13.
•Twocardformatswiththesamebitlengthcannotbeactivethesametime.Forexample,ifyouhavedenedtwo32-bit
cardformats,“FormatA”and“FormatB”,andyouhaveenabled“FormatA”,youcannotenable“FormatB”without
disabling“FormatA”rst.
•Ifnocardformatshavebeenenabled,youcanusetheCardrawonlyandCardrawandPINidenticationtypesto
identifyacardandgrantaccesstousers.However,wedonotrecommendthissincedifferentreadermanufacturers
orreadersettingscangeneratedifferentcardrawdata.
Cardformatdescriptions
•Name(required)–Enteradescriptivename.
•Description–Enteradditionalinformationasdesired.ThisinformationisonlyvisibleintheEditcardformatandAdd
cardformatdialogs.
•Bitlength(required)–Enterthebitlengthofthecardformat.Thishastobeanumberbetween1and1000000000.
Fieldmaps
•Name(required)–Entertheeldmapnameunspaced,forexampleOddParity.
Examplesofcommoneldmapsinclude:
-Parity–Paritybitsareusedforerrordetection.Paritybitsareusuallyaddedtothebeginningorendofa
binarycodestringandindicateifthenumberofbitsisevenorodd.
-EvenParity–Evenparitybitsmakesurethatthereisanevennumberofbitsinthestring.Thebitsthathave
thevalue1arecounted.Ifthecountisalreadyeven,theparitybitvalueissetto0.Ifthecountisodd,the
evenparitybitvalueissetto1,makingthetotalcountanevennumber.
-OddParity–Oddparitybitsmakesurethatthereisanoddnumberofbitsinthestring.Thebitsthathave
thevalue1arecounted.Ifthecountisalreadyodd,theoddparitybitvalueissetto0.Ifthecountiseven,
theparitybitvalueissetto1,makingthetotalcountanoddnumber.
-FacilityCode–Facilitycodesaresometimesusedforverifyingthatthetokenmatchestheorderedenduser
credentialbatch.Inlegacyaccesscontrolsystems,thefacilitycodewasusedforadegradedvalidation,allowing
entrytoeveryemployeeinthecredentialbatchthathadbeenencodedwithamatchingsitecode.Thiseldmap
name,whichiscasesensitive,isrequiredfortheproducttovalidateonfacilitycode.
-CardNr–ThecardnumberoruserIDiswhatismostcommonlyvalidatedinaccesscontrolsystems.Thiseld
mapname,whichiscasesensitive,isrequiredfortheproducttovalidateoncardnumber.
-CardNrHex–Thecardnumberbinarydataisencodedashex-lowercasenumbersintheproduct.Itisprimarily
usedfortroubleshootingwhyyouarenotgettingtheexpectedcardnumberfromthereader.
•Range(required)–Enterthebitrangeoftheeldmap,forexample1,2–17,18–33,and34.
•Encoding(required)–Selecttheencodingtypeofeacheldmap.
-BinLE2Int–Binarydataisencodedasintegernumbersinlittleendianbitorder.Integermeansthatitneedsto
beawholenumber(nodecimals).Littleendianbitordermeansthattherstbitisthesmallest(leastsignicant).
-BinBE2Int–Binarydataisencodedasintegernumbersinbigendianbitorder.Integermeansthatitneedstobe
awholenumber(nodecimals).Bigendianbitordermeansthattherstbitisthebiggest(mostsignicant).
