Authenticationmethod:
•Basic:ThismethodisthemostcompatibleauthenticationschemeforHTTP.It’slesssecure
thantheDigestmethodbecauseitsendstheusernameandpasswordunencryptedtothe
server.
•Digest:Thismethodismoresecurebecauseitalwaystransfersthepasswordencrypted
acrossthenetwork.
•Auto:Thisoptionletsthedeviceselecttheauthenticationmethoddependingonthe
supportedmethods.ItprioritizestheDigestmethodovertheBasicmethod.
Ownerauthenticationkey(OAK):ClickGetkeytofetchtheownerauthenticationkey.Thisisonly
possibleifthedeviceisconnectedtotheinternetwithoutafirewallorproxy.
SNMP
TheSimpleNetworkManagementProtocol(SNMP)allowsremotemanagementofnetworkdevices.
SNMP:SelecttheversionofSNMPtouse.
•v1andv2c:
-Readcommunity:Enterthecommunitynamethathasread-onlyaccesstoall
supportedSNMPobjects.Thedefaultvalueispublic.
-Writecommunity:Enterthecommunitynamethathasread/writeaccesstoall
supportedSNMPobjects(exceptread-onlyobjects).Thedefaultvalueiswrite.
-Activatetraps:Turnontoactivatetrapreporting.Thedeviceusestrapstosend
messagesforimportanteventsorstatuschangestoamanagementsystem.Inthe
deviceinterface,youcansetuptrapsforSNMPv1andv2c.Trapsareautomatically
turnedoffifyouchangetoSNMPv3orturnoffSNMP.IfyouuseSNMPv3,youcanset
uptrapsthroughtheSNMPv3managementapplication.
-Trapaddress:EntertheIPaddressorhostnameofthemanagementserver.
-Trapcommunity:Enterthecommunitytousewhenthedevicesendsatrapmessage

TouseSNMPv3,werecommendyoutoactivateHTTPS,asthepasswordisthensent
throughHTTPS.ThisalsopreventsunauthorizedpartiestoaccessunencryptedSNMPv1
andv2ctraps.IfyouuseSNMPv3,youcansetuptrapsthroughtheSNMPv3management
application.
-Passwordfortheaccount“initial”:EntertheSNMPpasswordfortheaccountnamed
“initial”.AlthoughthepasswordcanbesentwithoutactivatingHTTPS,wedon’t
recommendit.TheSNMPv3passwordcanonlybesetonce,andpreferablyonlywhen
HTTPSisenabled.Oncethepasswordisset,thepasswordfieldisnolongerdisplayed.
Tosetthepasswordagain,youmustresetthedevicetofactorydefaultsettings.
