lower the air temperature, the higher the value. Since the decrease
in atmospheric pressure is based on the log scale, the difference at
an altitude of 5.5 km increases by as much as approx. 16 metres per
1 hPa.
To counteract any fluctuations in the altitude shown by the
watch, you should enter the correct value when reaching a
point whose altitude is known from a (rambler's) map, infor-
mation sign or is indicated on the path, etc.
