Ping Ping is a basic Internet program that lets you verify that a
particular IP address exists and can accept requests.
Example: ping 192.168.2.10
SonicIP Barix SonicIP ® technology is designed to vocally announce
the Barix devices current IP address. This makes it
easier and faster to obtain the necessary network
information. To make use of SonicIP plug in the
included earphone into RCA audio out, connect the
network and plug in the power supply. It will
announce the address over the earphones right after
power up.
Static IP A Static IP is a fixed IP address that you assign manually
to a device on the network. It remains valid until you
disable it.
Telnet Telnet is a user command and an underlying TCP/IP protocol
for accessing remote computers. On the Web, HTTP
and FTP protocols allow you to request specific files
from remote computers, but not to actually be logged
on as a user of that computer. With Telnet, you log
on as a regular user with whatever privileges you
may have been granted to the specific application
and data on that computer. Example: telnet
192.168.2.10
