Residual current circuit
breakers
Use a residual current circuit breaker, type B (inverter-resistant), sensitive to all
current types, with a nominal residual current of 100 mA if the discharge cur-
rent is to be protected.
Such a circuit breaker is not suitable for personal protection. Additional appro-
priate measures have to be taken for personal protection!
Requirements regarding supply voltage
Permitted phase asymmetry Maximum 3% (higher phase asymmetry reduces FI lifetime)
Sinusoidal voltage THD <12%
Operation on generators, emergency power unit and networks equipped with
power factor correction units only after consultation with BITZER.
For operation on IT systems, the three EMC filter earth screws must be re-
moved (see figure 1, page 23). This will disable all internal EMC filters. Ex-
ternal filters suitable for the IT system must be used.

WARNING
Basic isolation is provided for the internal con-
trol signals and control voltages of the fre-
quency inverter (FI). To comply with the SELV
requirements, additional isolation or galvanic
isolation is required. For cables > 30 m, protect
the control inputs and outputs of the FI against
overvoltage using Zener diodes (U=30 V)!
