Specifying Route Options
You can adjust the route type to
your requirements at any time – be-
fore as well as during the destina-
tion guidance. For this purpose, you
must change to the "Route options"
menu as follows:
Press the NAVI button > for ap-
prox. 2 seconds.
Or:
Mark and confi rm the "Options"
menu in the navigation display.
The Options menu of the naviga-
tion system appears.
In the "Options" menu, mark and
confi rm the "Route options" menu
item.
The "Route options" menu ap-
pears.
Note:
The defi ned route options remain
active until you change them.

Defi ning the route type
To defi ne the route type:
In the "Route options" menu, mark
and confi rm the desired menu
item.
If you select "Optimum", the
navigation system guides you
to your destination using a
time-optimised and distance-
optimised path, comparable to
a driver who knows the place.
You can defi ne the relationship
of a time-optimised to distance-
optimised route (see p. 69).
If you select "Fast", the naviga-
tion system guides you to the
destination using the fastest
way.
If you select "Short", the navi-
gation system guides you to the
destination using the shortest
way.
If you select "Dynamic", the
navigation system includes the
current TMC traffi c announce-
ments and changes the route if
it should bring you to your des-
tination any faster (see p. 70).
If you select "Enable", you can
allow or disallow ferries, tun-
nels, toll roads or motorways
for the route calculation, pro-
vided that it does not result in
excessive detours (see p. 69).
