! Do not clean the optical heads or measuring cham-
ber with solvents or detergents!
3. Push the cleaning brush through the tube of the
measuring chamber until it is visible on the opposite
side.

4. Clean the tube of the measuring chamber with the
brush.
5. Clean the glass surfaces of the two optical heads
with a clean cloth (Fig. 5).

6. Push the two optical heads back in.
7. Re-attach the covers.
"The measuring chamber tube and optical heads are
clean.
5.3.5 Cleaning the collector
1. Lay the BEA 070 on its back on a clean surface
(table).
2. Remove the three screws of the collector on the
underside of the device (Fig.6).
3. Remove the collector.

4. Clean the collector with a clean cloth (Fig. 7).
Carefully remove stuck-on soot particles using a
suitable tool (e.g. screwdriver), and clean once more
with a clean cloth.

5. Re-attach the collector to the underside of the
device, and screw in place.
"The collector is clean.
5.3.6 Cleaning the charging contacts
Clean dirty charging contacts (on the underside of the
BEA 070) with a soft cloth only.
