The unit will turn on prior to the set time. This allows the room to reach
the desired temperature by the programmed time (awaking function).
Cancel all timers
▶ Press the Set/C button.
The orange timer lamp on the unit will turn off.
The current clock time will be displayed on the remote control.
Combine on timer and off timer
On timer and off timer can be set at the same time. Either timer can be
programmed to activate prior to the other
▶ Set the on timer and off timer.
The settings will be automatically combined.
Example:
• Current time: 21:00
• Off timer at 11:00 p.m.
• On timer at 7:00 a.m.
An arrow ( or ) next to the timer indicator shows which timer will
activate first.
You can not program the on timer and off timer to operate the unit at
different temperatures or other settings.
3.10.4 Noise reduction
This function reduces the noises emitted by the outdoor unit when it is in
operation. This is particularly advantageous at night, if you need to show
consideration for your neighbours.
▶ During operation, press the button.
Exiting the function:
▶ Press the button again.
When noise reduction is active, a number of operating modes may not
reach their full performance potential. The sound pressure level is not
reduced if it has already dropped low enough at stable condition.
3.10.5 Multi space mode
Multi space mode cannot be activated during auto mode, the button is
disabled.
The unit will operate to cool or warm multiple rooms in a well insulated
house by pressing this button.
▶ During cooling or heating operation, press the button.
– In heating mode, the remote control displays .
– In cooling mode, the remote control displays .
The louver angle changes to the position for long distance delivery of
air. The remote control displays and .
To cancel multi space mode:
▶ Press the button again.
The unit will operate at extra high fan speed for long distance delivery of
conditioned air. After 15 minutes the unit shifts to high fan speed.
The Fan button is disabled during this operation mode.
Effectiveness of this function may differ depending on the room layout,
installation position of the unit, and insulation level of the space
concerned.
3.10.6 Self cleaning mode
Self cleaning mode will reduce the growth of mold fungus with
plasmacluster ions and dry the inside of the unit. Utilize this mode at
seasonal change over terms.
▶ Press the Clean button when the unit is not operating.
The remote control displays for 1 minute.
The blue plasmacluster lamp on the unit turns on.
The unit stops operation after 90 minutes.
To cancel self cleaning mode:
▶ Press the Stop button.
The blue plasmacluster lamp on the unit turns off.
Temperature, fan speed, airflow direction or timer can not be set during
self cleaning mode.
Mold fungus already grown can not be eliminated by this operation.
3.10.7 Movement sensor
▶ Press the Eco key during automatic mode, to activate the movement
sensor ( Fig. 1, [6]).
The indoor unit is intelligently controlled, depending on the presence
or absence of persons and the amount of movement in the room.
• Function with low activity: if the sensor detects no movement in the
room for 60 minutes, the air conditioning system reduces the output.
As soon as movement is detected in the room once again the output
increases to the normal value.
• Function with increased activity: if the detected activity level
increases, the set temperature falls. The fan speed also increases in
Cooling mode. If automatic vertical Swing mode is set, the airflow
direction will be set obliquely downward.
If the movement sensor fails to detect a person, this could be caused by
the following:
• There is no movement for long periods of time (for example a person
sleeping, little baby, unable to move because of injury or illness).
• Only a small area of skin is exposed (for example being covered with
a quilt, wearing thick clothes, pointing the back to the air
conditioner).
• Movements are concealed by furniture.
• The temperature difference between the room and the person’s body
is small (room temperature above 30 °C.)
If the movement sensor incorrectly detects one or more persons, this
could be caused by the following:
• There are small animals such as cats and dogs moving around.
• There is too much sunshine or warm wind entering the room.
• There is an object with high temperature in the room such as a heater.
• The room temperature changes a lot in a short time.
