Control 8310 – 6720856493 (2022/07)
11.2.2 Control unit linking
The Control unit coupling is performed in an adjustable time period. In
doing so, the master controller searches for other CBC bus participants
on the CBC BUS. All logged-in control units appear in the system
overview of the master control unit.
Fig. 10 System overview (example)
[1] System of the master control unit
[2] Status display of the respective control unit
[3] Selected control unit (here, master control unit with control
unit address 00)
[4] Networked control unit (slave control unit with address 01)
[5] Changes to the view of the master control unit
(only displayed with slave control units)
[6] Networked components, e.g. slave control unit or control circuit
with its own control unit address (02)

overview or in the control unit overview
[9] Press symbol to return to the previous level/screen of the selected
control unit
Once started, the coupling process runs in the background.
No operations or settings may be performed at any of the control units
during the coupling process.
To network the control units:
Master control unit
The communication line to other control units must be connected to LAN 2.
▶Call up Service menu ( Chapter 13.1, page 16).
▶ Tap on field .
▶Tap Activate.
A prompt dialogue box appears.
▶Tap Resume after long power down.
▶ Activate slaves.
All main controllers must be activated in the time set under
Control unit coupling active for.

Activation of the Control unit coupling on the control unit
Control 8310:
▶ press the and keys simultaneously for 3 seconds.
If Control unit coupling becomes active, the LED status display flashes
( Fig 1, [10], page 5):
▶ For further slave control units, start the Control unit coupling.
The LED status display flashes yellow during the coupling process.
The slaves detected during the coupling process are registered as nodes
and rapidly flash green. If they have not been detected they flash red.
Once the coupling process is complete, a message appears on the
control unit with display to confirm that the coupling was successful.
The LED status display lights up in the same colour it was before the
coupling process.
If not all control units have been detected, a fault is displayed:
▶ Check device connection and address allocation.
If a connection does not exist for a control unit that has been
detected once:
▶Start Control unit coupling in the master control unit.
The connection with the control unit is re-established.
12 Information on the reset main menu
Which function is reset depends on the module inserted.
▶ Observe the documents of the master control unit.
All default values in the main menu and in the service menus can be
restored with the Reset menu.
Once the reset has been confirmed with Reset, this can no longer be
cancelled!
Table 8 Possible resets
The pairing (connection) between master and slave control units is lost
when the default setting of the master unit is restored (Load default
setting). It is however retained if only the default setting of the slaves is
restored.
If the pairing at the master control unit is activated or the configuration
of the master control unit is loaded, the units are reconnected.
