6.2.3 Monthly Cleaning Procedure
These procedures are recommended after
160 hours of operation.
Proceed with daily and weekly cleaning
tasks first.
Monthly Cleaning Procedure
Assembly Cleaning Tool Cleaning Procedure
Infeed conveyor Damp cloth and
industrial soap
solution.
Remove and soak the infeed chain in an industrial
soap solution. Clean the rider bars with the soap
solution.
Endseal crimpers Brass brush
(see below)
Remove knife and anvil for thorough cleaning of
slots.
Electric eyes Soft cloth. Clean the lenses.
Proximity sensors Soft cloth. Clean the sensor ends.
Collector rings on
both Endseal and
Finseal
Electrical spray
cleaner and soft
cloth.
Spray with electrical cleaner and wipe with soft
cloth.
WARNING
The crimpers and finwheels are
best cleaned while hot. Do not
touch them with a bare hand or a
severe burn could result! Use an
insulating device.
CAUTION
When cleaning, use a brass brush
only. A steel brush is too abrasive
and can cause damage. Be very
careful to avoid damaging the wires
going to the heat elements.
