5.1 Installation considerations
For the best detector performance, select a mounting location
that is:
– Mounted on the ceiling within a maximum range of 20 ft (6
m)
– For armor-coated glass installations, mount the sensor no
more than 12 ft (3.65 m) from the glass
– Mount the detector in the direct line of sight of the glass to
be protected
– On an opposite, or adjoining wall, within a range of 20 ft (6
m) for plate, tempered, laminated, and wired glass
– In a suitable environment: temperature between -18 and
50ﾟC (0 and 120ﾟF); and humidity between 10 and 90%
non-condensing
Avoid mounting the detector in:
– Glass airlocks and glass vestibule areas
– Humid rooms
