32/60 Installation
Bosch Rexroth AG, A15VSO/A15VLO Series 11, RE 92801-01-B/11.2018
7.4.3 General instructions
Follow these general instructions when installing the axial piston unit:
• Note that certain installation positions will affect the control system. Gravity,
dead weight and case pressure can cause minor characteristic shifts and changes
inresponse time.
• Torsional vibrations and speed variations may cause leaks inthe shaft seal and
increased rotary angular acceleration oftherotary group oftheaxial piston unit.
Atrisk are diesel drives with asmall number ofcylinders and low flywheel mass
and toothed belt orV-belt drives. Belts can lose much oftheir pre-charge pressure
after just ashort operating time.
An automatic clamping device can lessen the speed variations and vibrations, and
thus avoid subsequential damage.
– When using drives with toothed belts orV-belts, always use anautomatic
clamping device.
• On the drive ofanaxial piston unit, acardan shaft may cause vibrations
and excessive rotary angular acceleration. Depending onthe frequency and
temperature, this may cause leaks inthe shaft seal and damage the rotary group.
• If ashared drain line isused for several units, make sure that the respective case
pressure ineach unit isnot exceeded. The shared drain line must bedimensioned
toensure that the maximum permissible case pressure ofall connected units
isnot exceeded inany operating conditions, particularly atcold start. If this isnot
possible, separate drain line must belaid, ifnecessary.
The type ofinstallation for the axial piston unit depends onthe connecting elements
tothe drive side. The following descriptions explain the installation oftheaxial
piston unit:
• With acoupling
• On agearbox
• On acardan shaft
7.4.4 Installation with acoupling
The following describes how toinstall the axial piston unit with acoupling:
NOTICE! Danger from improper handling!
Product can bedamaged!
▶ Do not install the coupling hub onthe drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit
bystriking it.
1. Install the specified coupling half onthe drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit
according tothe instructions ofthecoupling manufacturer.
The drive shaft oftheaxial piston unit isequipped with afemale thread. Use this
female thread topull the coupling element onto the drive shaft. The size
ofthefemale thread can beseen inthe installation drawing.
2. Clamp the coupling hub onto the drive shaft orensure permanent lubrication
ofthedrive shaft. This prevents the formation offrictional corrosion and the
associated wear.
3. Transport the axial piston unit tothe installation location.
