Installation 37/60
RE 92801-01-B/11.2018, A15VSO/A15VLO Series 11, BoschRexrothAG
• Drain line
– Always route the drain lines sothat the housing isconstantly filled with hydraulic
fluid and toensure noair gets through the shaft seal, even during extended
standstill periods.
– The case pressure must never exceed the limit values specified for the axial
piston unit inthe data sheet.
– The drain line inflow inthe reservoir should always bebelow the minimum fluid
level (seechapter7.3 "Installation position" onpage 28).
• If the axial piston unit isequipped with installed screw fittings, do not remove
them. Screw the stud end ofthefitting directly into the installed fitting.
Axial piston units are used inapplication areas that use the metric system aswell
astheAnglo-American (imperial) and the Japanese measuring system (JIS – Japan
Industrial Standard). Various kinds ofseals are also used.
The system ofunits, the kind ofseal and the size offemale thread and stud ends
(e.g.threaded plug) must all match.
There isarisk ofconfusion due tothe limited ways ofvisually telling them apart.
WARNING! Leaky orbursting stud ends!
For fittings, ifastud end that does not match the system ofunits, kind ofseal and
size ofthefemale thread ispressurized, the stud end may loosen itself oreven
beejected from the hole inaprojectile-like manner. This can result inserious injury
and property damage. Hydraulic fluid can escape from this leakage point.
▶ Use the drawings (installation drawing) todetermine the required stud end for
each fitting.
▶ Make sure the right fittings, mounting bolts and threaded plugs are installed.
▶ For all female threads, use astud end from the same system ofunits and
ofthecorrect size.
Risk ofconfusion with
threaded connections
