The automatic document feeder (ADF) consists of the pick-up roller, separation roller, paper
feed rollers 1/2/3/4, eject roller, ADF motor, switch back sensor, document rear sensor and
document front sensors 1/2.

The duplex scanning mechanism allows you to use the following two types of scanning, “ADF
scanning” and “document glass scanning”. These two scanning methods are switched
depending on whether the document front sensor 1 detects the document or not when starting
scanning.
