5.7 Temperature and current measurements (BIM2, BTC1)
Temperature and current sensors can be attached to the second plug on the front
panel. The temperature sensor must be a RTD with a nominal value of 1000Ω at 0°C
(PT1000).
The current sensor may be any current
clamp with a transfer ratio of 1mV/A or
10mV/A or 100mV/A.
Only one type of sensor can be selected
at one time. Each sensor is connected to
different pins of the input plug. Thus specific cables are needed. (The standard cable
is for temperature).
Please note that both sensors must not have any galvanic connec-
tion with the rest of the instrument.
5.8 Single measurements
Measurements can also be initiated individually. To do this,
the measurement sequence has to be switched from “contin-
uous” to “single”. The device is then switched to the ready
mode which means:
the impedance measurements are kept, the measurement
current is turned off
the voltage and temperature measurements continue
This mode is indicated by the colour of the display window changing from green to
magenta.
If you then click “start measurement”, an individual measurement is taken. This can
be an individual frequency measurement or a spectrum measurement, depending on
the previous setting.
Alternatively, the measurement can be started using the digital input by an increasing
edge with a subsequent holding time of ≥ 100ms.
The input is electrically isolated and designed for SPC control. The status of the input
is shown by the LED adjacent to the connection (green is, logically, one).
