3.3 PLUMBING INSTALLATION
LPHW plumbing
1. The LPHW connections for connecting e boiler water flow and return to
e Variheat are:
2. ¾" BSPM on AA600/900
1" BSPM on AA1200/1500
3. Suitable breakable couplings, isolation, and drain down valves should be
installed in e boiler water flow and return pipes local to e Variheat.
4. LPHW circuits inside e Variheat should be bled for air pockets. (Bleed
valves fitted internally).
5. A filter or magnetic trap needs to be in e boiler circuit to prevent e
heat exchanger in e Variheat from blocking up.
6. Refer to e boiler manufacturers instructions before designing e
pipework system.
The Variheat should be connected as shown in section 3.0.
Condensate drain
1. The condensate driptray in e Variheat collects e water removed by
e dehumidification process, It is erefore necessary to ensure at e
Variheat III is placed on a level plin so at e condensate can run away
and not overflow e edges of e driptray inside e machine.
2. All Variheat 3 models have a ¾” BSPM readed condensate drain
connection. The drain pipe should run away wi adequate fall to waste ie
½” per foot min. and must incorporate a ‘U’ trap and tun dish.
Important general points
1. Do not route water pipes across service access panels or air inlet/outlets.
2. The water circuits to and from e Variheat should be capable of
maintaining e specified water flow required.
3. All pipe work must be adequately supported wi allowance for
expansion and contraction.
4. It is recommended at when installing water systems e last
connections to be made should be adjacent to e Variheat III to avoid
undue stresses on e unit connections.
5. See warranty exclusions on page 68. for total list of water quality
limits.
