3.3 Refrigerant
The refrigerant contained in the refrigeration system of this unit can cause
frostbite, severe burns, or blindness when in direct contact with the skin or
eyes. For this reason (and because of legislation regarding the handling of
refrigerants) we recommend that you contact your nearest Carrier Transicold
authorized repair facility whenever service of the refrigerant system is
required.
3.4 Battery
This unit may be equipped with a lead-acid type battery. The battery normally
vents small amounts of flammable hydrogen gas. Do not smoke when
checking the battery. A battery explosion can cause serious physical harm
and/or blindness.
3.5 Standby Electric Power
Be aware of HIGH VOLTAGE supplied at the power plug. Even with the unit
switched off, power is present from the plug to the inside of the control box.
Disconnect the high voltage source when performing service or maintenance
procedures and lockout/tagout the receptacle in accordance with your
company procedures. The recommended lockout device (Carrier P/N 07-
60129-00) is shown in the following illustration.
