Why is my Carrier Heat Pump showing erroneous readings of the input signals?
    • I
      ichristensenNov 23, 2025
If your Carrier Heat Pump is showing erroneous readings of the input signals, check the following: 1. Ensure the correct power supply to the ?PC MEDIUM board and probes. 2. Verify the separation between the power supply of the digital inputs and that of the ?PC MEDIUM board; a 24 Vac/24 Vac, 5 VA transformer can be used. 3. Confirm that the cables from the probes are connected according to the instructions. 4. Make sure the probe cables are located far enough away from potential sources of magnetic interference, such as power cables, contactors, high voltage cables, or cables connected to units with high current peaks. 5. Check for high heat resistance between the probe and the sensor cap (if present); apply conductive paste or oil into the caps to ensure good temperature transfer if...

What to do if Carrier Heat Pump LCD shows strange characters or a blank display?
    • J
      Jennifer CampbellAug 26, 2025
If you're experiencing general LCD problems (strange characters, blank display) when switching on your Carrier Heat Pump, check the following: 1. Ensure the software in the flash is correct. 2. Verify the pLAN address of the pCOc and on the terminal, ensuring they comply with the requirements of the current application. 3. Check the connection between the Graphic terminal and the ?PC MEDIUM board.

What to do if my Carrier 50FC completely stops?
    • O
      oburnsAug 27, 2025
If your Carrier Air Conditioner stops completely, first, check the faults and alerts list to understand why it shut down. After identifying and fixing the issue, restart the unit. It's recommended to diagnose the unit in Service Test mode before running it normally and reset any faults before the control function can operate.

What does Fault F010 mean on my Carrier 50FC?
    • C
      Christine JacobsAug 27, 2025
Fault F010 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates a low voltage issue, possibly due to a brownout, low supply voltage, or a missing phase in the supply power. The control system will shut down the unit, but it should automatically clear once the supply voltage rises above 19 volts AC.

What does Fault F011 mean on my Carrier 50FC Air Conditioner?
    • J
      Jeffrey RiceAug 28, 2025
Fault F011 indicates that the MBB reference voltage is out of range, usually due to an MBB failure or the supply voltage being out of range. The control system will shut down the unit. This fault should automatically clear when the DC reference voltage returns to its normal range.

What does Alert A105 mean on my Carrier 50FC Air Conditioner?
    • S
      Shannon BensonSep 16, 2025
Alert A105 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates an open OAT sensor, generally caused by a faulty thermistor or an open thermistor due to a wiring error, or a loose connection. When this alert appears, the economizer will not operate for cooling.

What does Alert A103 mean on my Carrier 50FC?
    • J
      Jeanette RamirezSep 14, 2025
Alert A103 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates a shorted FST sensor, typically caused by a faulty thermistor, a shorted thermistor due to a wiring error, or a loose connection. This alert resets automatically.

    Jennifer RichardSep 15, 2025
What does Alert A104 mean on my Carrier Air Conditioner?
    • R
      robert58Sep 15, 2025
Alert A104 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates that the OAT sensor is out of range. This is usually due to a faulty thermistor, a shorted or open thermistor caused by a wiring error, or a loose connection. When this alert is active, the economizer will not operate to provide cooling.

What does Fault F018 mean on my Carrier 50FC Air Conditioner?
    • A
      Amy SmithSep 6, 2025
Fault F018 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates an MBB EEPROM failure, meaning the serial EEPROM chip on the MBB, which stores the unit’s configuration, is not responding. Recovery is automatic, but you might need to replace the MBB board. Before replacing the board, try cycling the power to the control.

What does Alert A016 mean on my Carrier 50FC Air Conditioner?
    • S
      Stephen SmithSep 4, 2025
Alert A016 on your Carrier Air Conditioner indicates that the MBB 24VDC voltage is out of range, usually due to an MBB failure or the supply voltage being out of range. When this alert is active, Analog Input numbers 6, 7, and 8 will be in error. The alert should automatically clear when the voltage rises above 19 volts DC.
