4.  Examine the 4 off compression springs and the fan retainer plug; replace any bent or damaged items 
from the spares. 
5.  Remove the fixing screw holding the fan socket to the mounting plate and unplug the fan from the 
detector head. 
6.  Discard the failed fan and fit a replacement fan in reverse order of disassembly. 
7.  Reconnect the detector head to the base and to the Control Unit, ensure that the fault does not 
reoccur. 
5.2.7  Gain Digipot Read Fault 
The gain digipot is a component within a detector used to ensure the correct calibration of the detector. 
The digipot value is set during the production of the detector and cannot be changed. The detector 
constantly monitors the digipot value to ensure that it has not been corrupted and communicates the 
fault to the Control Unit If an error in the value is identified a Gain Digipot Read Fault will be indicated. 
To identify which detector is at fault, from the Engine Overview Screen, Figure 148, select the required 
engine.
