Bringingthemachineuptooperatingtemperature
NOTICE:Normaloperatingtemperatureofthehydraulicuidisbetween50°C(122.0°F)and80°C(176.0°F),in
themiddleofthetemperatureindicator.
Afterstartingtheengineandbeforeusingthemachine,allowthehydraulicuidtoreachatemperatureof20°C(68.0
°F),asindicatedbytheappearanceofthersttwosegmentsonthehydraulicuidtemperatureindicator.(Referto
page3-18).
Engineautomaticwarm-up
Oncetheenginehasstarted,thewarming-upprocessbeginsautomatically.Atrst,enginespeedisheldatapre-
determined,lowlevel.Asthetemperatureincreases,enginespeedincreasesinproportion.Itispossibletointerrupt
thewarming-upprocessatanytime,simplybymanuallychangingenginespeedorbyoperatingoneofthecontrol
levers.Warming-uptakesapproximately5to10minutes.
Manualenginewarm-up
Withtheenginethrottlebuttonaquarteropen,starttheengineandallowittorunapproximatelyfor5to10minutes.
Whenthecoolanttemperaturereachesthesecondsegment,carryoutthehydraulicuidwarm-upprocedure.
Hydraulicuidwarm-up
1.Turntheenginethrottlebuttontohalf-openposition.Pushthefunctioncancellationleverforward(safetybarin
outwardposition).Operatethebucketcontrolslowlyuntilthebucketiscompletelyclosed.Operatethearmre-
tractingcontrolslowlyuntilthearmiscompletelyretractedandholdthecontrolinthispositionfor30seconds.
Duringthistimethetemperatureofthehydraulicuidwillincrease.
2.After30seconds,extendthearmcompletelyandholdthecontrolinthispositionafurther30seconds.
3.Continuethearmextendingandretractingprocedureuntilthetemperaturerises(rsttwosegmentsofthetem-
peratureindicator).
4.Operatethetravelandattachmentcontrolsthreeorfourtimestocirculatethehydraulicuid.
