(inforwarddrive,thereductiongearsshouldbetothe
rearofthemachine).
•
Donotworknearoverheadhigh-voltageelectriclines
withoutcheckingbeforehandthatallnecessarymea-
sureshavebeentakentorespecttheminimumdis-
tances:
Lessthan57000volts:3m(9.8ft).
Morethan57000volts:5m(16.4ft).
•
Studythepositionofanyexistingpipelinesorconduits
beforestartingwork.Electricalcables,gasandwater
pipesandotherundergroundinstallationscancause
seriousinjury.
•
Alwaysmakeallowanceforworkingconditions(sloping
orroughground),thesiteandweatherconditionswhen
drivingthemachine.
•
Donotallowanyonetostandinthemachineworking
area.Accidentaloperationoftheupperstructureswing
controlorofanattachmentcontrolcouldcauseanac-
cident.Stopalloperationsuntileveryonehasmoved
away.
•
Operateallcontrolsgraduallytoensuresmoothma-
chineoperation.
•
Wheneverloadhandlingoperationsaretobecarried
out,itisimperativetoadherestrictlytotheinstructions
giveninthismanualandlocallegislation.
•
Itisforbiddentousethemachinetocarryouttasks
otherthanthoseforwhichitisintended.Neverusethe
equipmentforsweepingthegroundtoleveloutrubble
orpushobjects(transversalstressontheattachment).
•
Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkeywhenthe
machineisnotuse,evenforshortperiodsoftime.
•
Theworkingareaoftheendattachmentthatismounted
mayinterferewiththemachine.Interferencemaybe
causedduetothetypeofendattachmentorinstalla-
tionofpartssuchasacabguard.Alwaysmaintaina
safemarginofdistance.(Becarefuloftoolswingorac-
cidentaloperations.)

Toaccessorexittheoperator’scompartment,theleft-
handcontrolarmmustbeintheraisedposition.Never
forgetthisbasicrequirement.
•
Neverleavetheoperator'scompartmentwhiletheen-
gineisrunning.
•
Togetinoroutofthecab,itisimperativethattheup-
perstructureframeisinlinewiththeundercarriage.
•
Dust,smokeormistcanreducevisibilityandcausean
accident.Reducespeedorcometoacompletehalt
untilvisibilityhasimproved.
•
Neverjumpdownfromthemachine.Whenalighting
fromthemachineortheupperstructure,alwaysface
themachineandusethestepsandaccesshandles.
•
Intheeventofanoperatingproblemorfailure,move
themachinetoasafeplace,lowertheattachmenttothe
ground,shutdowntheengineandremovetheignition
key.Locatetheproblem,reportitifnecessaryandtake
thenecessarystepstowarnothersnottoattemptto
operatethemachine.
•
Beforetiltingtheseatbackforward,itismandatoryto
raisethearmreststoavoidanyaccidentaloperationof
thecontrollevers.
•
Neverturnthekeyofthebatterymasterswitchin“O”
(Off)positionwhenengineisrunning,theelectricalsys-
temscanbedamage(ifequipped).
•
Whentheengineisstopped,alwayswaitoneminute
minimumbeforetoplacethekeyofthebatterymas-
terswitchin“O”(Off)position,otherwisethecomputer
programofthehydraulicwillnotexitsuccessfully(if
equipped).

Nevertrytoweldorstraightenuptheprotectivestruc-
ture.
•
Donotmodifytheprotectivestructureinanyway.Any
modication,suchaswelding,drilling,cutting,addition
ofaccessories,aswellasdamagesufferedfollowingan
impactreducestheprotectionthatitprovides.Replace
theprotectivestructureifithassufferedanimpactand
donotattempttorepairit.
•
Incorrectinspectionorserviceworkoftheprotective
structuremayleadtoseriousinjury.Carryoutinspec-
tionoperationsoftheprotectivestructuregiveninthis
manual.Iftheprotectivestructureoritscomponents
needtobereplaced,useonlythosepartsthatarelisted
inthesparepartscatalogcorrespondingtoyourma-
chine.
Quickcoupler(optional)
•
Neverplacethecontrolswitchintheunlockedposition
whenthemachineisworking.
•
Eachtimeabucketisinstalledonthequickcoupler,
closethebucketandraisetheattachmentsoastobe
abletomakeavisualcheckthatthebucketpiniscor-
rectlyengagedinthelatchinghook.
