3.3 Using the controls
The Microdust Pro instrument is designed to
allow easy operation. The instrument has only
seven (7) control keys, shown on the right. These
are as follows:
The Soft keys (A and B).
The Navigation keys (C) .
The Run/Stop key (D) .
The instrument is small in size, and it is usually possible to hold and operate it
using only one hand. For safety, you can attach a wrist strap near the bottom of
the instrument.
Soft keys
The Soft keys A and B allow you to select between the two options showing at
the bottom of the screen. These two options change, depending on which screen
is showing on the instrument’s display.
Navigation keys
The four navigation keys allow you to select items on the main part of the
screen. Press the , , or Navigation key to change to the next selection
in the direction of the arrow.
Run/Stop key
The Run/Stop key allows you to start and to stop a measurement Run.
During a Run, data is saved to internal memory for later download.
Press the key when the instrument is in the Stop mode (Bars at top and
bottom of screen are Red) to start the Run. Refer to section 4.2 Starting a
measurement Run beginning on page 38 for information about the Run and
Stop modes.
Press the key during a Run to stop the Run.
