The
primer
is actually a small
pump
which
draws
fuel
from the
frlel
strainer
when the
pluuger
is
pulled
out, and
injects it
into the
engine
intake
ports
when the
plunger
is
pushed
back in.
Ttre
plunger
is
equipped
with a lock and, after being
pushed
full in, mustbe rotated either
1
left or
right until the
knob cannot be
pulled
out.
COOLING
SYSTEM
Ram
air for engine
cooling
enters through
two intake openings
in the
front
of
the
eugine
cowling.
The cooling air is directed
through the
remote
oil
cooler
(behind
the left
intake opening), and
around the cylinders
and
other
areas of
the engine
by baffling,
and is then exhausted
through
powl

right
to clear
a detent,
then moving
the lever up
to the
OPEN
position.

the lever
is repositioned,
it
must first be
moved to the

A
winterization
kit
is available and'consists
of
two clips
and two
bafflep,which,attach
to
the air intakes
in the
cowling
nose cap,
and a
placard
to be
installed on
the instrument
panel.
This
equipment
should be
installed
for
operations
in temperatures
consistently
below
-7"C
(20'F).
PROPELLER
The
airplane
has an
all-metal,
two-bladed, gonstant-speed;
governor-
regulated
propeller.
A setting
introduced
into the
governor with the
propeller
control
establishes
the
propeller
speed,
and thus
the engine
speed
to
be .maintained.
