travel after troubleshooting.
Reverse gear is forbidden during traveling, or else
it will damage the transmission. The resultant malfunction is
out of the warranty scope of Chery Company.
Steering
In order to avoid damaging the power steering system:
● When the engine operating, it is forbidden to
let the steering wheel stay at any limit point
(turn to the left or right dead center) for over
10 seconds.
● When the power steering fluid in the power
steering fluid reservoir is below the MIN mark,
the power steering fluid shall be added
immediately. Before filling, driving vehicle is
forbidden.
If the power steering system breaks down or the
engine is shut off, the vehicle will lose the
power-assisted steering. You still can rotate the
steering wheel but with more force.
If the vehicle is off tracking or swaying during
traveling, please check the following items:
● Whether the pressures of two front tyres are the
same;
● Whether the abrasion of tyres is uniform;
● Whether the suspension components are
loosening or wearing;
● Whether the steering components is
loosening or wearing;
● Whether the wheel alignment is correct.
EPS Electric Power Steering
System ( )
The EPS, electric power steering in full, takes the
torque generated by motor as the boosting source
to replace the boosting manner employed by
general vehicles (i.e., engine drives hydraulic
pump). When the malfunction diagnosis system
finds the malfunction, the malfunction indicator
lamp “ ” on the combination instrument will be
lighted.
During traveling, if the EPS malfunction indicator
lamp is lighted, it indicates the EPS goes wrong. In this
situation, even if the basic operation can be maintained, it is
required to contact Chery authorized service station at
once.
Wading
If the vehicle has to wade during traveling, you
must drive carefully and slowly, especially when
you don’t know the details of the river. If the water
is deep to submerge the hub, you shall not drive
forwards.
When wading, both the tractive force and brake
performance reduce, and the vehicle has the risk
of flameout.
