10.2 RF Test Process
It is important to test the range between SEVEN and every RF device that has been learned. When a device is
activated during RF Test mode, and the RF signal is received, SEVEN will beep and announce a number to represent
how many RF signals have been received during the current RF Test mode.
• As a safety feature Test Mode will timeout after ten (10) minutes*. You can enter back into this mode as many
times as needed.
• Range tests should be performed from locations where the customer is likely to be when they need help.
10.2.1 Range Testing with Personal Help Buttons
Personal help buttons should be activated at multiple locations, by walking around the home and garden.
Check that the personal helps button’s outer edge flashes red after each button press.
RF Range Tests should be performed from locations where the customer is likely to be when they need
help.
Always remember to test from ground level as well, so the customer is covered in the event of a fall.
10.2.2 Range Testing with SID Devices
All fitted devices, environmental monitoring products, and wall mounted buttons, should be tested from
the location that they are installed, with SEVEN in its installed location.
10.2.3 Range Testing with GO
To range test GO with SEVEN, press and hold one of the buttons on GO to perform a System Check.
The System Check will first announce the battery level. Check the cellular connection in the area you are
testing, and then send the RF signal to the base unit. Go will also obtain and send the GPS location data to
mapping software. Please ensure you complete the full System Check process at each location.
NOTE: If GPS location check is turned off in the GO configuration, System Check will not be able to be used
to perform range testing. GO will need to be activated and cancelled during the pre-alarm.
Chiptech Recommends: that you test environmental or activity monitoring products using their unique
activation method. For example, open a door to test the door contact, or test the smoke detector by
using a can of smoke or the test button.
