18 Troubleshooting
In all cases, if the suggestions do not work, then try replacing the complete SEVEN system (including the personal help
button, and plug pack). If this fixes the problem, then return the original SEVEN for service with a description of the
problem.
18.1 Power Button
18.1.1 The Power button is flashing orange, or SEVEN does not turn on
• Check the power connection is correctly connected to the base unit and turned on at the wall.
• Check the base unit isn’t off, by pressing and holding the Power button on the base unit to start.
• Replace the plug pack.
• Try another power outlet to check if the outlet is faulty, or fuse has been tripped.
• If SEVEN will not turn on please return to Chiptech for servicing.
NOTE: Once reconnected to mains power the base unit battery will need to recharge for a 24 hour period.
18.1.2 The Power button is flashing red
• The base unit battery level has been detected as low voltage, check that the mains power is supplied.
• The battery will recharge when the mains power is connected, the button will return to green.
18.1.3 The Power button is solid red
• A solid red Power button indicates that the base battery has been removed, or is no longer functioning.
• Remove all cables before opening the battery cover.
• Check that the battery pack is still connected correctly.
• If connected correctly, replace the battery pack with an approved 4.8V 2000mAh NiMH battery pack.
• If the issue persists please return the base unit to Chiptech for servicing.
18.2 Connect Button
18.2.1 SEVEN cannot connect to the cellular network at start up
When SEVEN is first turned on the Connect button should display a solid orange light for approximately one
(1) minute, for single SIM card, and five (5) minutes for dual SIM cards, while connecting to the local cellular
network. If the button does not change to green or starts flashing, it means that SEVEN is unable to establish
a connection to the cellular network.
• Move the SEVEN to another location, and press the Connect button.
• If a connection cannot be established, check with the cellular service provider that the SIM card is
activated and there is coverage in the area.
• Remove all cables before opening the battery cover.
• Check if the SIM card is still present and fitted correctly in the SIM slot located under the battery pack.
NOTE: The Installer Setup menu can be used to check what pathways are enabled and these can be changed
if required.
