18.4 Pearl Issues
18.4.1 RF device does not activate SEVEN
• Press and hold the RF device to check if it will activate an emergency alarm on SEVEN.
• Follow the steps to Learn an RF device, see Section 9. This will check if the RF device is learned into the
SEVEN, has a low battery, or is not functional.
• If that doesn’t work, learn another RF device. The first RF device should be taken off site and discarded
or returned to Chiptech. (Learning in a new RF device will make the previous one inactive).
• If no RF devices can be learned into the SEVEN, please contact Chiptech for assistance.
18.4.2 RF device low battery in Learn mode
• SEVEN will not allow you to learn a RF device with a low battery. If you try to learn a RF device with a
low battery, then SEVEN will announce “There is a problem learning this RF Device.”
• The RF device will not be learned. You will need to learn in a different RF device pendant.
Note: This is the same message that is announced when there is no more space in the list to add another RF
Device. If you suspect that the RF device list is full, clear it using the ‘Clear all RF devices’ option in the
Installer Setup menu, or use the Chiptech Wizard.
18.4.3 Insufficient range between RF device and SEVEN
• Check that SEVEN is not located close to an electronic device; try moving it away from it to see if the
range improves.
• Moving SEVEN to a more central location will normally improve range. For example, if a house has a large
front garden, then placing SEVEN at the front of the house will achieve the best range throughout the
house and garden.
• If range is still a problem, test the site with a different SEVEN and Pearl, if the original combination
proves to have poor range, please return to Chiptech with a fault report for investigation.
