Operation

truck

check performance must

authorized, safe, clear area.

Before starting
to
drive
the
truck:
a.
Make sure brake
is
applied.
b. Put
directional control
in
NEUTRAL.
c.
Turn
the key
switch
to the ON
position.
d.
Check
functioning
of
lift
and
tilt
systems,
directional
and
speed controls, steering, brakes, warning devices,
and any
load
handling
attachments.

Before leaving
the
truck:
a.
Stop truck.
b.
Fully
lowerthe
load-engaging means;
upright,
carriage, forks
or
attachments. Tilt forks forward.
c. Put
control handle
in
neutral.
d.
Turn
the key
switch
to the OFF
position.
e.
Put
blocks
at the
wheels
if
truck must
be
left
on an
incline.
f.
Unplug
the
battery.
11.
Brakes, steering
mechanisms,
control
mechanisms,
warning
de-
vices,
lights,
lift
and
tilt mechanisms
and
frame
members must
be
carefully
and
regularly inspected
and
maintained
in a
safe
oper-
ating condition.
12.
Special trucks
or
devices designed
and
approved
for
hazardous
area
operation must receive special attention
to
insure that
maintenance preserves
the
original approved
safe
operating
features.
13.
All
hydraulic systems must
be
regularly inspected
and
maintained
in
conformance
with
good
practice.
Tilt,
reach
and
lift cylinders,
valves,
and
other parts must
be
checked
to
assure that "drift"
or
leakage
has not
developed
to the
extent
that
it
would create
a
hazard.
