Chain hoists
or
power battery hoists must
be
equipped with load-
chain containers
to
accumulate
the
excess lifting chain.

BATTERY SERVICE:
Battery
service
must
be
done
by
trained
and
authorized
personnel.
Battery
acid
can
cause
severe
burns
and
injury.

Charging
1.
Persons maintaining storage batteries must wear protective cloth-
ing
such
as
face shield, long sleeves,
and
gloves.
2.
Hydrogen emissions from charging
batteries
are
flammable.
No
smoking
is
allowed
in the
charging area.
Do not
check
the
electrolyte level
with
an
open
flame.
Do
not
allowopenflame, sparks,
or
electric arcs
in
battery charging area.
WARNING
SULFURIC
ACID:
The
battery
con-
tains
corrosive
acid
that
can
cause
injury.
If
acid
contacts
your
eyes
or
skin,
flush
immediately
with
water
and
get
medical
assistance.
