HOW TO USE HOWDY BABY
APP Installation on Smartphone/tablet
The HOWDY BABY device works in combination
with a smartphone/tablet that has sucient battery to
guarantee a Bluetooth transmission.
It is recommended to check this every time you want
to start monitoring . In alternative, you can use the
HOWDY BABY device with a smartphone/tablet
connected to the electricity supply.
The battery charge level is displayed in the main screen
of the dedicated app and you can also get a notication
by a ashing light in the electronic unit, as explained in
the following paragraphs.
Note: the patient does NOT coincide with the expected
operator. The following instructions for use and
maintenance are intended for the expected operator.
The HOWDY BABY device works in combination with a
dedicated app that displays the data monitored by the
HOWDY BABY device.
The recommended operating system of the
smartphone/tablet should be Android 8.0 or above.
Follow the installation wizard emphasizing the required
consents during the procedure
Before connecting the Electronic Unit to the
Smartphone/Tablet it is necessary to activate its
Position/Location.
Connection of the electronic unit to the Smartphone/
tablet (1st installation)
The electronic unit trasmits the patient’s heart rate
and movement data to the smartphone/tablet via a
Bluetooth Low Energy wireless connection. Therefore,
rst of all it is necessary to switch on the Bluetooth
signal and the position/location of the smartphone/
tablet. Check the instructions manual to nd out how to
switch on the Bluetooth signal and the position/location
of the smartphone/tablet that you are using.
The rst time you use it, you need to select the Electronic
Unit you intend to connect to from the Options Menu of
the App: touch on “Add Sensor” and then choose the
Electronic Unit you wish to use (refer to the section
“Sign in and Starting the monitoring session”). You don’t
need to repeat this operation the next times you use the
app; the connection will be automatic.

1) Switch on the electronic unit pressing the small
button marked by the ignition switch symbol for
at least two seconds. Every time the electronic unit
is switched on any initial check is done on the main
hardware components. This phase is identify by a
green LED followed by a series of red blinks.If the initial
check is positive, it will start the power-on sequence:
green LED-Red blinking LED- blue blinking LED, which
indicates that the device is ready for the Bluetooth
connection (gure 5).
