Compaq Restore CD
The Compaq Restore CD is a set of Compaq-specific drivers and Compaq value added software
that enables the workstation to operate at optimum performance. Updates are available on the
Compaq website at
www.compaq.com
and through a subscription to the Compaq Support
Software CD Kit.
Updates for the restore CD are not available on the web or through subscription. It only ships
with the unit. There is a Support Software CD that is available through paid subscription but it is
a separate product.
The Compaq Restore CD performs a complete restore. That is, every time the Restore CD is
used the system will be erased and then will restore the entire operation system, drivers, and
Compaq value added software. The initial release of the Compaq Restore CD included with the
workstation contains the following support software drivers:

SCSI controller driver

Graphics display driver
■
Audio drivers
