SETTINGS
Swipe up on the home screen and tap Settings. The Settings menu contains
most of the tools for customizing and configuring your phone. In some sub-
menus, you may need to tap Advanced to get all the options.
At the top of the Settings screen, you can search for setting menus with key
words. Tap a result to directly open that menu.
NETWORK & INTERNET
Wi-Fi
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Wi-Fi to turn Wi-Fi on or off and
configure your Wi-Fi connections. (see

).
Mobile Network
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Mobile network to control
mobile data use, data roaming, preferred network type and operator, Wi-Fi
calling, and access point names. (see

Phone Calls – Adjusting Your Call
Settings – Setting Up Wi-Fi Calling
).
Airplane Mode
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Airplane mode to turn airplane
mode on or off. All the phone’s radios (such as cellular, Wi-Fi, and
Bluetooth
)
that transmit voice or data are turned off when airplane mode is on.
Hotspot & Tethering
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering to share
your phone's mobile data with other devices via a USB cable or wirelessly
(see
Connecting to Networks and Devices – Sharing Your Mobile Data
Connection.
)
Data Saver
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Data Saver to enable or disable
Data Saver, which prevents apps from using mobile data in the background.
Apps you’re currently using can access data, but may do so less frequently
when Data saver is enabled. You can tap Unrestricted data to allow some
apps to always have data connection access, even when Data Saver is
enabled.
VPN
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > VPN to set up and connect
to virtual private networks (see
Connecting to Networks and Devices –
Connecting to Virtual Private Networks
).
Private DNS
Open Settings and tap Network & internet > Private DNS to turn Private DNS
on or off or change the DNS provider hostname. Using private DNS is a way
to secure your Internet communication.
