• The charge point is equipped with 6mA DC Current Leakage Protection function
which conducts an automated test for the 6mA DC.
• A Type A RCBO with earth leakage protection of 30mA and 40A current rating must
be installed separately in the consumer unit by the installer.
• The charge point is equipped with PEN Fault Protection and an automatic
disconnectionsystemwhichsatisestherequirementsofBS7671:2018
Amendment 2:2022 722.411.4.1 (iv) the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• If the voltage remains consistently below 207 Volts or above 253 Volts for 5
seconds,thismayindicateaPENfault.Ifsuchasituationarises,thisdevice
ensures safety by disconnecting the vehicle from both the live conductors of the
supply and the protective earth to prevent electric shock.
• This implies that the charge point can be installed without the need for an
additionalearthrod.However,ifthecustomerorlocalregulationsrequirethatan
earthrodisinstalled(forinstanceaspartofanearthedsystem),thenthisshould
be connected to the dedicated terminal within the charger.
4.2.2 Pre-installation checks
• Ensure that the site of installation is suitable for the charge point technical
specicationandthereisnouncontrolledhazardarisingfromtheinstallationof
this unit.
• Ensurethechargepoint’slocationallowsgoodoperationalaccessfornormaluse,
repair,andmaintenance.
• TheACinputcomponentsforthepowersupplyonsitearetobecorrectlytted
with required protection devices prior to installation of the charge point as per
local,regional,andnationalregulations.
• Ensure that the charge point location has good network connectivity
- Thischargepointonlysupports2.4GHznetwork.Wi-Fisignalstrength
between -50dBm to -60dBm is considered good.
- A2.4GHzWi-Fiextendermaybeneededifthesignalstrengthisbelow
-60dBm to -80dBm range.
- The Wi-Fi signal strength can be checked with a smartphone at the point of
installation using a suitable Wi-Fi Speed Test mobile application.
- Ensure that the SIM card is correctly inserted and that the 4G APN settings
in the charger parameters are correct. 4G network can only work in the
presence of adequate cellular signal.
