18. HOT WATER SYSTEM

The H16 is fitted with a Webasto Diesel EVO5 Hydronic water and air heating system. For
information on the correct operation of this product please refer to the respective Webasto
Owner’s Manual provided. Materials in the device which come into contact with water are
suitable for use with drinking water.
The heater uses a 12L fuel tank which is fitted to the front of the van. Please ensure that you
have sufficient fuel to operate your heater before use and close the internal windows located
directly over the external vent to ensure fumes do not come back into the cabin space.
Please carefully read the below warnings and safety instructions:
• If the vehicle is parked in closed rooms:
o Switch to off at the control panel
• Never operate when travelling.
• Do not operate near flammable vapours.
• Never use system when refuelling, in multistorey or enclosed car parks, in garages or
on ferries. The heater's exhaust can be toxic in enclosed spaces (e.g., garages,
workshops). The unit can only be operated outdoors to ensure dissipation of exhaust
gases.
• Keep areas around the appliance, the air inlets, and the vents free of obstruction &
contamination.
MAINTENANCE:
The heater requires minimum maintenance to keep it in good operating condition:
1. Clean the heater compartment from any accumulated debris or dust.
2. Inspect all components for wear and damage.
3. Check air intake and exhaust for any restriction.
4. Check fuel line for damage, restriction, kinks, or loose connections.
5. Inspect all coolant lines and clamps for leakage or damage.
6. Check water coolant and fuel connections for leaks, tighten hose clamps if necessary.
7. Check glycol level, top up if necessary.
8. Ensure to run the heater for an hour every month regardless of the season.
MIXING VALVE
The mixing valve (to prevent scalding) is located at the hot water outlet on the tank. Turn the
knob on the top of the valve to set to your desired water temperature between 38°C to 55°C
with a tolerance of ±7°C.
