Software Interface:
How to Control the
Camera
3.1 Overview
A l l camera features can be contr olled through the seri al i nterface. The camera can also be
used without the serial interface after it has been set up correctly. Functions available
include:
• Controlling basic camera functions such as gain and sync signal source
• Performing flat field correction
• Camera calibration
• Measuring internal temperature and voltages
• Capturing video
• Generating a test pattern for debugging

For quick help, the camera can return all availabl e commands and parameters through the
serial i nterface. To generate thi s list, send the command
h to the camera.
Retrieving Camera Settings
To read current camera settings, send the command gcp. For an explanati on of the camera
parameter screen, see section B3 Cam er a Par ameter Screen on page 58.
