What to do if my Dalsa Security Camera grab has random bad data or noise?
    • T
      Tiffany CallahanAug 13, 2025
Random bad data or noise in your Dalsa Security Camera grab can occur if the NIC used does not fully support the maximum jumbo frame. Ensure that the jumbo frame size is set to the maximum allowed in the NIC configuration. If the NIC reports a false maximum jumbo frame size, set the jumbo frame size to less than the maximum allowed. Also, test for a good acquisition by reducing the Genie packet size used, starting with a value of 1500 to verify acquisition before trying a higher value if the Network Configuration Mode is left as Automatic.

What to do if I have a streaming error with a timeout message on my Dalsa Genie M640?
    • S
      Stacy GrayAug 16, 2025
If you're getting a timeout message with your Dalsa Security Camera, it might be that a third-party firewall program is blocking the video stream. To resolve this, add the GigE Server to the firewall exception list or disable the firewall completely on the NIC used only with the Genie.

What to do if my Dalsa Genie M640 grab remains black?
    • B
      brewerhenryAug 20, 2025
If the Dalsa Security Camera grab remains black, it could be due to a firewall blocking the video stream. Confirm that the problem is the firewall settings and not the Genie sensor by configuring Genie to output its internal test pattern. Also, if you have VPN software installed, disable the VPN driver in the NIC properties.

    Charles RossAug 25, 2025
Why is my Dalsa Genie M640 Security Camera device not available?
    • J
      Jean LeeAug 25, 2025
The Dalsa Security Camera might be unavailable due to a major camera fault, disconnected power, or a network communication issue. Review the section "Installation Overview & Preparations" on page 18 to verify required installation steps. Also, see "Verifying Network Parameters" on page 115 to review networking details. See "VPN Driver Interference" on page 115 if using Genie Framework previous to release 1.20.

What causes problems with disconnecting NICs in Dalsa Genie M640?
    • L
      lisa80Aug 27, 2025
Data loss can occur when disconnecting NICs in Dalsa Security Camera if motion or vibrations cause the Ethernet cable connection to be insecure. Use a locking Ethernet cable. Also, communication with the Genie can not be reestablished without power cycling.

What to do if I have multiple camera issues with my Dalsa Security Camera system?
    • M
      Mitchell PorterSep 1, 2025
If you're experiencing issues with multiple Dalsa Security Cameras, confirm each Genie has been assigned an IP address by checking the GigE server. Also, do not use multiple NIC ports configured in LLA; instead, use a DHCP server or persistent IP.
