Networking Mode, Error
Handling and Command
List
This appendix describes how to configure your camera for networking mode and
provides a list of error messages and a complete list of camera commands.
B1 Networking Mode
The camera's network feature provides the capability to connect and control multiple
cameras over a multi-drop RS485 link.
The network feature consists of three commands and a set of definitions describing the
behav i or of the camera w hen the commands are sent in netw ork m ode.
Command Short Form Description
set_camera_ID sci Sets camer a netw ork I D
get_camera_ID
gci
Reads camera ID
set_netmessage_mode snm 0: d i sabl e, default (messages enabl ed )
1: enable (messages disabled)
Camera ID
The camera ID i s a single, case insensitive A SCII alphanumeri c character: A to Z or 0 to 9.
To change the netw ork I D for a camera, use the command
sci i i. Wher e the fi r st
parameter is an ID of A to Z or 0 to 9, and the second, opti onal, parameter i s the camera's
serial number.
To read current camera I D, use the
gcp command.
Changing Network ID of a Camera
To change the ID of a netw orked camera, even if som e or all of the cam er as share the
same camera ID, prov i de the serial number of the camera as the second par ameter w hen
sending the broadcast version of the
sci command.
