4.6 ON-BOARD ETHERNET INTERFACE
For Ethernet models, the on-board Ethernet Interface can be used for TCP/IP communication
with a remote or local host computer by connecting the reader to either a LAN or directly to a
host PC. There is no need to use a crossover adapter since Matrix 120 incorporates an auto-
cross function.
A CAB-ETH-M0x cable can be used to connect to a LAN.
On the Matrix 120 on-board Ethernet interface the following communication channels are
available:
TCP Client
TCP Server
UDP Client
FTP Client
The following Fieldbus protocols are also available over the on-board Ethernet interface:
EtherNet/IP
PROFINET IO
Modbus TCP Client
For further details refer to the Help On Line page of the Reading Phase step (Channels) and
(Fieldbuses) in DL.CODE.
