  If the ambient air temperature is below 25ºC (77ºF) and the fans increase in speed, it might be due to the thermal control process activating when a temperature threshold is reached. To resolve this: 1. Check for airflow restrictions at the front or back of the enclosure, maintaining a minimum gap of 25 mm (1") at the front and 50 mm (2") at the rear. 2. Inspect for dust build-up and clean if necessary. 3. Ensure there is no excessive re-circulation of heated air from rear to front, avoiding fully enclosed racks. 4. Confirm all blank modules are correctly installed. 5. Reduce the ambient temperature.

  If the Ops panel Module Fault LED is amber and the Fan Fail LED is illuminated on one or more PCMs, it could be due to the internal temperature exceeding a preset threshold. To address this: 1. Ensure the ambient environment temperature is within the acceptable range. 2. Check for airflow restrictions at the front or back of the enclosure, maintaining a minimum gap of 25 mm (1") at the front and 50 mm (2") at the rear. 3. Inspect for dust build-up and clean if necessary. 4. Ensure there is no excessive re-circulation of heated air from rear to front, avoiding fully enclosed racks. 5. If possible, shut down the enclosure and investigate the problem before continuing.

  If the Ops panel Module Fault LED is amber, it could be due to a power fault or fan failure. Verify the AC mains connections to the PCM are live. If it is a fan failure, replace the PCM.

  To correct enclosure IDs on your Dell EMC Storage, ensure that both controllers are up and then perform a rescan using either the ME Storage Manager or the CLI. To rescan using the CLI, type the command: rescan. To rescan using the ME Storage Manager: 1. Verify that both controllers are operating normally. 2. Do one of the following: * Select the System tab and click Rescan Disk Channels. * In the System topic, select Action > Rescan Disk Channels. 3. Click Rescan.
