Installing the power button
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the power button and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
1. Align and place the power button into its slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2. Align the screw hole on the power button to the screw hole on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3. Replace the screw (M2x3) to secure the power button to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Next steps
1. Install the display assembly.
2. Install the coin-cell battery.
3. Install the 3-cell battery or the 4-cell battery, whichever applicable.
4. Install the base cover.
5. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
