Removing the heat sink
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
NOTE: Ensure that your computer is in Service Mode. For more information see, step 6 in Before working inside your
computer.
2. Remove the SD card.
3. Remove the SIM card tray.
4. Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the heat sink and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
NOTE: To remove the heatsink shielding cover, pry it open from the recess located at its top right corner.
