Removing the Keyboard
1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
2. Remove:
a) battery
b) base cover
c) keyboard trim
3. Remove the screws and lift the battery bay of the computer.
4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
a) Lift the keyboard-backlight cable latch [1].
b) Remove the cable from the system board [2].
c) Lift the trackstick cable latch [3].
d) Remove the cable from the system board [4].
e) Lift the keyboard cable latch [5].
f) Remove the cable from the system board [6].
g) Lift the touchpad cable latch [7].
h) Remove the cable from the system board [8].
