Installing the VR heat sink
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
NOTE: VR heat sinks are only required for systems with an 8 core 65 W CPU, a 6 core 125 W CPU or an 8 core 125 W CPU.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the VR heat sink and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
1. Remove the liner behind the VR heatsink modules.
NOTE:
Step one is only applicable for new installation or an upgrade. For replacing an existing component, follow the
procedure from step two.
2. Adhere the VR heatsinks on the system board.
