What to do if my Denon AVR-2808 Receiver isn't responding to the remote control?
    • S
      Stephanie BurgessAug 16, 2025
If your Denon Receiver isn't working properly when you operate the remote control unit, there are several potential causes. Try replacing the batteries with new ones. Ensure that you are operating the remote within the specified range and that there are no obstacles between the main unit and the remote. Check that the batteries are inserted in the proper direction, as indicated by the polarity marks in the battery compartment. Also, make sure the set's remote control sensor isn't exposed to strong light (like direct sunlight or inverter-type fluorescent bulb light); if it is, move the set to a location where the sensor isn't exposed. Finally, confirm that the remote ID of the main unit and remote control unit match, and if they don't, set the same remote IDs for both.

Why is there no sound from the subwoofer on my Denon AVR-2808?
    • M
      Mia HoltAug 20, 2025
If you're not getting any sound from the subwoofer connected to your Denon Receiver, make sure the subwoofer’s power is turned on. Check that the “Subwoofer” setting at “Speaker Configuration” is set to “Yes”. Verify that the subwoofer is properly connected. Ensure the subwoofer’s volume is not turned off; adjust it to an appropriate level.

What to do if my Denon Receiver power turns off suddenly and power indicator flashes red?
    • J
      Jeff CampbellAug 25, 2025
If your Denon Receiver's power suddenly turns off and the power indicator flashes red, it could be due to several reasons. The protection circuit might have been activated because of a rise in internal temperature. Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area to cool down, then turn the power back on. Check the speaker wires to make sure the core wires of two speakers are not touching each other, or that a core wire isn't sticking out and touching the rear panel. In such cases, unplug the power cord, twist the core wires tightly or terminate the speaker cables, and then reconnect them. Also, ensure you are using speakers with the specified impedance. If the issue persists, it could indicate damage to the set.

How to fix no sound from speakers on Denon Receiver?
    • J
      Jeffrey NobleAug 28, 2025
If your Denon Receiver isn't producing sound from the speakers, several factors could be at play. First, check the connections to ensure they are properly connected. Also, verify that the device you want to play and the set input source match. Make sure that the master volume isn't turned too low and that mute mode is not set. If headphones are connected, disconnect them. If you're expecting digital audio, ensure that digital signals are being input and that you've selected an input source for which the digital input setting has been made, and that the connectors to which the digital inputs are assigned and the settable input modes do match.

Why is there no picture on my Denon Receiver?
    • A
      Andre McmillanAug 31, 2025
If no picture appears on your Denon Receiver, first, check the connections between the unit and the monitor to ensure they are secure. Then, verify that the monitor’s input setting is correct. If PURE DIRECT mode is enabled, cancel it. If you’re using component input connectors for the player and video (yellow) or S-Video output connectors for the monitor, be aware that high definition (1080i/720p) and progressive (480p/576p) video signals are not down-converted; in this case, set the player to interlace (480i/576i) signals.

      wchapmanSep 4, 2025
If you're not getting a picture with HDMI connections on your Denon Receiver, start by checking the connections to the HDMI connectors to make sure they are properly connected. Also, verify the HDMI input setting to ensure it is correct. The issue might also be that your monitor is not compatible with copyright protection (HDCP), so try connecting a monitor that is compatible with HDCP. Finally, ensure that the HDMI format of the player and monitor match.

      Kimberly AndersonSep 8, 2025
If your iPod cannot be played on your Denon Receiver, ensure that the input source assigned to 'iPod dock' is selected. Check that the cable is properly connected; try reconnecting it. Verify that the Control Dock for iPod’s AC adapter is plugged into a power outlet.

If your Denon Receiver's power suddenly turns off and the power indicator flashes red, it could be due to several reasons. First, the protection circuit might be activated because of a rise in internal temperature; in this case, turn off the receiver, let it cool down completely, and then turn it back on. Another cause could be that core wires of two speakers are touching, or a core wire is sticking out and touching the rear panel, which also activates the protection circuit; to resolve this, unplug the power cord first, then twist the core wires tightly or terminate the speaker cables before reconnecting. Using speakers with an impedance other than specified can also trigger this issue, so ensure you are using speakers with the correct impedance. Finally, if the set is damaged, turn off t...
