Do you have a question about the Denzel DCM-125 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document serves as a user manual for the DENZEL Concrete Mixer, covering models DCM-125, DCM-160, DCM-180, and DCM-200. It provides essential information for safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The DENZEL Concrete Mixer is a cyclic gravitational mixer designed for preparing flowing concrete mixtures based on mineral binders, dense and porous fillers (with a cone slump greater than 3 cm), and plasters (with a flow of not less than 5 cm) for construction applications. It operates in cycles of loading, mixing, and unloading. The mixer should be used only for its intended purpose, adhering to the manufacturer's conditions for operation, maintenance, transportation, and storage, as well as all relevant safety requirements.

Unintended uses include mixing explosive substances or application in the food industry, for which the manufacturer disclaims responsibility for any resulting damage or consequences.

Raw materials suitable for concrete mixtures and mortars include:

  • Fillers: Natural sand (grain size up to 5 mm); crushed stone or gravel (grain size from 5 to 40 mm).
  • Astringents: Gypsum, lime, cement, liquid glass, etc. Various additives (tripoli, pumice stone, foam, oil soap, etc.) can be used to improve the properties of cementitious materials.
  • Solvent: Fresh water, free of harmful substances to the environment and living organisms, and free of surface-active substances that could destructively affect the mixer's components.

The manufacturer tests the mixers using a concrete mix with a ratio of 2:3:5 (cement 400, sand, gravel, in that order).

Important Technical Specifications

The concrete mixers are designed for operation at ambient temperatures from +5 to +40 °C, without direct exposure to solar radiation and atmospheric precipitation, and with a relative air humidity up to 80% at 25 °C. They connect to a single-phase AC mains with a solid-grounded neutral, a voltage of 209–242 V, and a frequency of 50 ±1.25 Hz.

The models vary in capacity and power:

Model / Item No. Tank capacity, L Fillers size, mm Power, W Loading volume, L Sound power level, dB Length mm Width mm Height mm Weight, kg
DCM-125 / 954217 125 40 550 84 95 1140 705 1255 49
DCM-160 / 954227 160 40 800 105 95 1250 840 1330 64.5
DCM-180 / 954237 180 40 800 119 95 1250 840 1360 66
DCM-200 / 954247 200 40 1000 133 95 1250 840 1390 67.5

The mixer is provided with Class II protection against electric shock, which must be maintained by using original spare parts and unchanged distances during repair. An automatic circuit breaker (AP50B2MT) must be installed in the electric board for power supply.

Usage Features

Assembly: The manual provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for assembling the concrete mixer using various mounting kits (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H). This includes attaching wheels, assembling the frame, connecting the tank's underside to the frame, installing mixing blades, attaching the tank's upper part, mounting the steering wheel, and installing the motor. All connections must be tightened securely with wrenches.

Preparation and Operation:

  • Before use, check all threaded connections, electrical wiring, and starting equipment. Test the mixer in idle mode before loading.
  • Install the mixer on a solid, flat, horizontal surface capable of supporting its weight and load. Deviations from horizontal are strictly forbidden to prevent overturning.
  • Maintain minimum safe distances around the working site (1m on all sides) and keep the area clear of obstructions.
  • Loading and unloading should only occur when the drum is revolving to prevent motor overload. Do not start the mixer with a loaded drum.
  • Manual loading of the drum is recommended. Pour water first, then cement, followed by gravel, sand, and the remaining water.
  • Optimal drum inclination for mixing is approximately 35° for concrete and 20° for mortar. Load material onto the blade against its rotation direction.
  • Avoid overloading the mixer, as this can cause equipment breakdown. Mixing time is approximately 120 seconds.
  • Unload by inclining the revolving drum with its port facing down.
  • The recommended load for the concrete mixer should not exceed 75% per hour of operating time to prolong its lifecycle.
  • Never lubricate the gear wheel and toothed rim to prevent premature wear.

Safety Precautions:

  • Only properly trained persons should operate the machine.
  • Ensure all protective devices are installed and serviceable. Do not use the mixer if they are damaged or if the switch is faulty.
  • Disconnect the mixer from the power supply before any repair, maintenance, cleaning, or transportation.
  • Do not touch the mixing drum during operation.
  • Keep children and pets away from the operating mixer (at least 2 meters).
  • Do not operate the mixer if fatigued, under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or potent medical drugs.
  • Use personal protective equipment: goggles, protective gloves, solid non-skid footwear, helmet (if necessary), and a respirator in dusty environments.
  • Ensure the working site is well-illuminated and free of lubricants or foreign objects.
  • Do not use the mixer near flammable substances or gases.
  • Avoid placing body parts in designated squeeze or rotating parts zones.
  • Be aware of hot surfaces that can cause burns.
  • Do not use the mixer in rain or wet rooms. Do not leave it outdoors overnight.
  • Check the power cable for damage before use. Never use damaged cables or extension cords.
  • Protect cables from heat, lubricants, sharp objects, and moving parts. Do not pull the mixer by its cable.
  • In case of excessive vibration, switch off the motor and identify the cause immediately.

Maintenance Features

Safe and long-lasting operation depends on correct operation and timely servicing. Maintenance aims to keep the mixer in working order. All maintenance tasks must be performed by qualified personnel using appropriate tools.

Maintenance Schedule:

  • Every Shift: Clean the mixer surface from concrete and dust. Wash the inside of the drum by rotating it with water and crushed stone. Check threaded connections and the power cord.
  • Maintenance (M-1) every 200 hours: Perform monthly servicing tasks. Check the parameters of the toothed rim.
  • Maintenance (M-2) every 600 hours: Perform monthly servicing and M-1 tasks. Check and adjust belt tension if necessary. A decrease in drum rotating speed by more than 5% from 29 RPM indicates loose belt tension.

Important Maintenance Notes:

  • All tightening, lubrication, and belt tensioning must be performed with the concrete mixer switched off and disconnected from the mains.
  • Never hit the mixing drum with hard objects (hammer, shovel, etc.).
  • Immediately remove concrete and mortar residues from the teeth of the drive gear wheel and toothed rim.
  • For troubleshooting involving part changes or open-circuit failures, contact specialized repair shops.

Storage:

  • Thoroughly clean the concrete mixer. Check and tighten connections and screws if necessary.
  • Inspect for damage and repair if needed by contacting a service center.
  • Store the mixer in a dry place at ambient temperatures from 0 to +40 °C and relative air humidity not exceeding 80%. The shelf life is unlimited.
  • For convenience, the mixer (DCM-160, DCM-180, DCM-200 models) can be folded for storage and transportation by loosening specific nuts and bolts as described in the manual.

Transportation:

  • The product can be transported in any type of covered vehicle according to applicable transportation rules.
  • Climatic conditions for transportation: ambient temperature from -20 to +55 °C; relative air humidity up to 80% at +20 °C.
  • The packaged product should be protected from impacts and atmospheric precipitation during transport and handling.
  • Ensure the package is stable and secured in the vehicle to prevent movement.

Disposal:

  • Before disposing of the product, completely drain any hydraulic fluid from it by turning the release valve counterclockwise to lower the piston, closing the valve, opening the oil filler plug, and draining the oil.
  • Disposal of equipment must comply with the requirements and standards of the countries where it is sold.

The average service life of the product is 5 years, provided the user follows the operation rules. The date of manufacture and serial number are indicated on the product.
