BIOS Setup
UART Mode Select
This field is used to select the type of IrDA standard supported by
your IrDA device. For better transmission of data, your IrDA
peripheral device must be within a 30
o
angle and within a distance
of 1 meter.
UR2 Duplex Mode
Half Data is completely transmitted before receiving data.
Full Transmits and receives data simultaneously.
Onboard Parallel Port
378/IRQ7, 3BC/IRQ7, 278/IRQ5 Selects the I/O address and
IRQ for the onboard parallel port.
Disabled Disables the onboard parallel port.
Parallel Port Mode
The options are SPP, EPP, ECP and ECP+EPP. These apply to stand-
ard specifications and will depend on the type and speed of your
device. Refer to your peripheral’s manual for the best option.
SPP
Allows normal speed operation but in one direction only.
“ECP (Extended Capabilities Port)”
Allows parallel port to operate in bidirectional mode and at a
speed faster than the normal mode’s data transfer rate.
“EPP (Enhanced Parallel Port)”
Allows bidirectional parallel port operation at maximum speed.
ECP Mode Use DMA
This field is used to select the DMA channel used for the parallel port.
OnChip USB
This field is used to enable or disable USB 1.1 and/or USB 2.0.
USB Memory Type
The options are Shadow and Base Memory.
