The GP-PWM-30-UL is a 30 Amp Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) solar charge controller designed for photovoltaic solar systems. Its primary function is to maintain battery life by preventing overcharging. When the battery reaches a 100% state of charge, the controller limits the current flowing from the solar array to the batteries. This model is Bluetooth®-enabled and lithium-compatible, making it suitable for modern RV and off-grid applications.
The controller employs a unique four-stage charging system, which includes an optional equalize setting for comprehensive battery care. It features an LCD digital display that provides real-time information on the solar array's charge current, system battery voltage, and battery state of charge. A key feature is the "Maximum Power Boost Technology™" (MPBT), which allows for manual bulk and absorption charging at any point in the charge cycle. This can be particularly useful for quickly boosting battery voltage, for example, after initial installation or when anticipating high power consumption.
The GP-PWM-30-UL is designed for a 12 VDC system voltage and can handle a maximum continuous DC input current of 37.5A and an input voltage of 35VDC. It includes a Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) function that automatically switches off the USB output port when Battery 1 voltage drops below 11.0 VDC to protect against over-discharge. If a compatible inverter is connected and set to remote mode, the controller will also switch off the inverter with a 2-3 minute delay. The USB output port and remote inverter control are re-enabled when Battery 1 reaches 12.2 VDC (for LFP) or 12.8 VDC (for SEALED, AGM, or FLOODED batteries).
