13 Performing learning cycle
Learning cycle must be performed while motor is
cold!
Door must not be moved manually or held open
during learning cycle, otherwise operator control unit
cannot correctly determine parameters.
Check that these configuration parameters have
been set:
Installation type (AS)
Reveal depth (rd)
Door width (Rb)
Door type (dL)
During learning cycle, safety sensors and activators
are switched off to insure learning cycle sequence is
not interrupted.
During learning cycle, smoke detectors are activated.
During learning cycle, operator functions are
deactivated.
STEP 1 Secure motion range of door.
No personnel or objects must be in door motion
range.
STEP 2 Close door and set program switches to OFF position.
If double door installation, single program switch to OFF
A rotating “o” and an “O” indicate operator is ready
for learning cycle.
STEP 3 Press button for > 3 seconds (LEARN) until
display changes.
Door performs several movements and display shows
a sequence of symbols.
Movements of door must not be interrupted.
Display indicates door is at 70° position and is
waiting for opening angle to be adjusted.
STEP 4 Manually move door into desired open position (maximum
angle 110°) and press button for < 3 seconds to
continue learning cycle.
Insure there are no physical obstructions to door
movement!
Door performs several movements and display shows
a sequence of symbols.
Movements of door must not be interrupted!
If door stops and displays small, rotating “o” and an
“F”, this is an indication spring tension is too low.
STEP 5 If spring tension is too low, turn off power and push
or let door close. Increase spring tension (Section 12).
Spring should have minimum of 10 turns and
maximum of 16 turns (ED 100) to 24 turns (ED 250).
Door will complete learning cycle. Two horizonal
bars indicate operator is ready for operation.
Following automatic learning cycle, actual forces on
door must be measured and changed if necessary
due to system tolerances. This requirement is to
ensure compliance with local standards and codes.
Reference Section 14 and 15.
STEP 6 Driving parameters; Reference parameters (Section
17) for a list of driving parameters.
These should be set before Step 7.
STEP 7 Set operator program switches to Automatic.
